Resounding Culture (2016-2020)

Research Assistant to Mary Ingraham and David Gramit on SSHRC Insight Grant.

Primary duties: Exploration of assigned resources; preparing summaries, reports, and noting items of particular importance, especially within selected topic areas (cultures and encounters; social life of musicians; music and politics; media and technology; sound: creation and experiences); comparative exploration of relevant print and other resources, including sources in languages other than English; writing in-depth descriptions and keywords of digital objects; organize and attend monthly team meetings; assist with preparing and presenting findings at conferences; locate digital and print sources for Ingraham’s and Gramit’s edited book of source readings Music in Canada: Documenting Histories (in development).

Blended Learning in Post-Secondary Music Education (2016)

Research Assistant to Patricia Boechler and Mary Ingraham on Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (U of A).

Primary duties: developing content and blended delivery activities (synchronous and asynchronous) for Music 101 (Winter 2016) through three different educational technologies: Articulate, Adobe Connect, and Virtual World Open Sim.

Resituating the Local (2013-2015)

Research Assistant to David Gramit on SSHRC Insight Grant.

Primary duties: conduct online and microfilm archival research of newspapers (Edmonton Bulletin, Edmonton Journal); record and input found objects into Zotero (citation software) and project spreadsheet in preparation for input into a larger database (in development).
